MasterEase® admixture for improving rheological properties of concrete now available in Singapore

    • New generation of concrete admixture significantly reduces the viscosity of concrete

    • Improved concrete mix stability facilitates easier pumping and placing of concrete

    MasterEase launch Singapore

Singapore – October 28, 2016 – BASF today launched MasterEase®, a next-generation admixture for production of low-viscosity concrete, for the Singapore market. The new admixture range improves the rheological properties and the stability of high-performance concrete.

This new generation of polymers reduces the plastic viscosity of concrete by up to 30 percent. In addition, it reduces the time and effort for pumping and placement of concrete, making installation much easier and faster.

"Innovation is an important driver for our long-term growth. We collaborate with our customers to continuously work on new products and solutions as well as innovative technologies. With the launch of MasterEase, we are offering our most advanced, and globally approved products in Singapore to support our customers in overcoming construction challenges and to successfully realize their projects," said Arnold De Silva, Head of BASF's Construction Chemicals Division for Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.

Concrete producers and users will benefit in many ways from the new technology, which is flexible and can be adapted to challenging situations such as temperature and material variations. It is particularly suitable for concrete mixes which are designed and optimized for advanced engineering properties and sustainability. For example, high-strength concrete with low water/cement ratios, and mixes with higher levels of secondary cementitious materials reduce the CO2 footprint.

"Singapore is one of the leading countries in Asia in enhancing construction productivity through strong regulatory framework. We want to be the partner of choice in providing advanced technologies to further increase efficiency and support sustainable development across the industry. MasterEase makes it easier to produce and place ready-mix concrete and this helps engineers and developers to improve speed, durability and sustainability ratings of their projects," said Daniel Loh, Managing Director, BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Head of Malaysia-Singapore Business Area.

During the launch, 50 guests were invited to a demonstration of the advantages of MasterEase to experience the quality of the new technology up-close.
