Industry Initiatives

Altus Group:
Master Builders Solutions was a founding Innovation Partner of the Altus Group, an independent team of the leading precast/prestressed producers of North America dedicated to the spirit of innovation in the precast concrete industry. Link to Altus Group
Concrete Canoe Competition:
Since 1988, Master Builders Solutions has supported the National Concrete Canoe Competition. The company provides technical information, sample admixtures, and information on concrete performance, testing and mix designs in an effort to foster the problem-solving skills of civil engineering students and to promote the versatility of concrete as a construction material. The quest to design and build a canoe of concrete presents unique challenges, and this project offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on, real world experience with the most versatile building material available. Master Builders Solutions offers samples of these products to students participating in the Concrete Canoe Competitions.
Concrete Industry Management Program (CIM):
Master Builders Solutions is an active participant in the development of the Concrete Industry Management degree program. This first-of-its-kind four-year college program is aimed at preparing graduates with a full complement of specific skills required to move successfully into management positions in the concrete industry. Master Builders Solutions sponsors scholarships for incoming students to the program, and company employees in sales, technical service, research and development are invited to be guest lecturers on concrete and related topics. Master Builders Solutions has also played an integral role in the expansion efforts of the Concrete Industry Management program to select universities across the nation. Concrete Preservation Institute Field School:
In 2010, the California State University – Chico's Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program and the National Park Service formed a partnership to provide hands on experience for CIM students with a summer internship program on Alcatraz Island. Since 2010, Master Builders Solutions has been a primary sponsor, providing repair materials, financial support and technical training. Link to Concrete Preservation Institute Field School.
Crews that Rock:
Since 2011, Master Builders Solutions has been the exclusive sponsor of the Crews that Rock contest, with World of Concrete. The contest honors the concrete and masonry construction crews for the work they do to keep our industry safe, develop creative solutions to problems, and help others in need by showcasing top construction projects. PCI Foundation:
An independent precast industry initiative to establish design studios with major universities around the country to assure that young engineers are exposed to the value of designing and building with precast concrete. Master Builders Solutions was a founding member of PCI Foundation. Link to PCI Foundation.
RMC (Ready Mix Concrete) Foundation:
Master Builders Solutions was an early supporter and major contributor to this charitable foundation established by NRMCA to provide a permanent income stream to fund future research, education and promotional programs aimed at improving the health and profitability of the ready-mixed concrete industry. The Foundation provides financial stability to the industry through continuous investment in research and education. Link to RMC Foundation.
Strategic Development Council:
The Strategic Development Council was formed under the auspices of the American Concrete Institute to encourage collaboration and cooperation between materials suppliers, contractors, engineers, government agencies, owners, academia and producers with the goal of accelerating the development and acceptance of new concrete technology.
