Hot Spray Applied Waterproofing Solutions for all Secondary Containments
Containment and retention basins are required by law to prevent hazardous waste or chemicals from entering the environment through leaks in tanks. The basins are usually made of concrete and have to guarantee the highest sealing security. Even the smallest pore may have serious consequences for people and the environment.
The secondary containment is intended to safely contain any accidental liquid spill in a second basin on a temporary basis until response teams arrive and the plant has been safely shut down.
There are two main principles that need to be taken into consideration in the design of secondary containments: any liquid must be contained irrespective of its temperature and liquids start cooling down immediately after they leave the primary containment. Taking this into consideration, a secondary containment protection system needs to match both the type and the temperature of the chemicals stored and to bridge cracks in order to ensure that potential leakages can be contained whenever they occur, even in the case of substrate cracks.
Hot spray systems from the MasterSeal range perfectly match all these requirements and ensure long-lasting protection for the secondary containment structure.
