    MasterSeal 588

Elastomeric cement-based waterproofing membrane for concrete and masonry water-retaining structures

When waterproofing water-retaining structures, it’s important to use a durable, non-tainting membrane that can retain flexibility when submerged to accommodate movement successfully. MasterSeal 588 meets this need,  being suitable for contact with kinds of water, including potable water and soft water, domestic and sewage wastewater and other moderately aggressive liquids, as well as mineral substrates.

Where can MasterSeal 588 be used?

This membrane is ideal for waterproofing water-retaining structures, and use where movement is a factor.
    • Potable water reservoirs
    • Process water reservoirs
    • Wastewater inflow areas in treatment plants
    • Basement waterproofing systems, where there is movement, vibration and slight settlement
    • Marine and land-based concrete bridge parapets, columns and piers

MasterSeal 588 is applied with a brush or spray equipment – a thickness of just 2mm will deliver waterproofing.

    What makes MasterSeal 588 different?

MasterSeal 588 is highly waterproof and offers excellent concrete protection against carbonation, deicing salts and acidic substances. Freeze-thaw resistant and water-vapour permeable, it can withstand occasional foot traffic. The membrane is simple to prepare by mixing two pre-batched components, and easy to apply. Its high durability under permanent immersion and in contact with slightly acid water solutions ensure long-term waterproofing for tanks.

    What is MasterSeal 588?

An environmentally friendly, solvent-free formulation makes this elastomeric cement-based waterproof membrane safe to handle and use. Its composition fulfils the requirements of European and local regulations for direct contact with potable water, including Reg 31. Full certification to EN 1504 part 2 ensures consistent performance.
