BASF increases prices for construction chemicals products in Japan

Tokyo, Japan - May 14, 2018 - Effective May 15, 2018, or as contracts allow, BASF Japan Ltd. will increase the sales prices for all construction chemicals products in small packages by over 10%, including a price review and restructure for air-entraining agents and air-controlling agents for concrete admixtures. Price adjustments will vary depending on products and sales contract conditions. These adjustments are necessary due to escalating raw materials prices and the continued increase of energy and logistic costs.

Takahiro Ikeda, Head of Construction Chemicals of BASF Japan Ltd. said, “Over the past few years, we have made every possible effort to maintain prices, despite the continued increase of raw material costs and logistic costs. The sharp increase in costs in recent months has forced us to raise our prices to ensure a stable and consistent supply of quality products for our customers.”

BASF Japan Ltd. is continuously exploring technologies to optimize costs and creating sustainable innovations to add greater value to customers.
