BASF’s new admixture innovation, MasterRheosure, sets a new benchmark for everyday concrete in Japan

    • Superior rheology retaining admixture, with stable workability, enables concrete producers to extend service area and reduce wastage
    • Two to three times better rheology retention compared to conventional mix

    MasterRheosure

Tokyo, Japan – July 5, 2018 – BASF’s advanced air-entraining water-reducing agent, MasterRheosure, provides superior rheology and slump retention for everyday concrete, thus enabling concrete producers to master long delivery times even under challenging conditions.

“MasterRheosure represents a major milestone in admixture innovations. It delivers a new benchmark in concrete workability which secures retention improvement of up to 3 times that of conventional solutions. The new admixture will improve concrete consistency and enable concrete producers to manage longer delivery times with robust logistics. Ultimately, it minimizes concrete rejection by site quality control, reduce wastage and associated costs,” said Takahiro Ikeda, Director of Construction Chemicals, BASF Japan.

Developed with a focus to ensure consistent slump and rheological properties for everyday concrete, MasterRheosure enables concrete producers to gain control over workability and rheology of conventional concrete for more than 90 minutes –  far beyond previously known industry levels. Fresh concrete can be placed more easily and flexibly, matching the workability expectations of users, even in hot weather, heavy traffic conditions or inaccessible sites.

“Innovation is the essence of our success. As a leader in the construction chemicals industry, we leverage our research and development capabilities to help our customers cope with challenges,” stated Mr. Ikeda.
