MasterEase® admixture for low-viscosity concrete now available in Indonesia

    • New generation of concrete admixture significantly improves rheological properties of concrete

    • Improved concrete mix stability facilitates easier  pumping and placing of concrete

Jakarta, Indonesia – April 1, 2016 – BASF launched MasterEase®, a next-generation admixture for low-viscosity concrete, for the Indonesia market yesterday. The new admixture range improves the rheological properties and the stability of high- performance concrete.

This new generation of polymers reduces the plastic viscosity of concrete by up to 30 percent. In addition, it reduces the time and effort for pumping and placement of concrete, making installation much easier and faster.

“Innovation is an important driver for our long-term growth. We collaborate with our customers to continuously work on new products and solutions as well as innovative technologies. With the launch of MasterEase, we are offering our most advanced products in Indonesia to support our customers in overcoming construction challenges and to realize their projects,” said Bjoern Peine, Head of BASF’s Construction Chemicals Division in Indonesia.

Concrete producers and users will benefit in many ways from the new technology, which is flexible and can be adapted to challenging situations such as temperature and material variations. It is particularly suitable for concrete mixes which are designed and optimized for advanced engineering properties and sustainability. High-strength concrete with low water/cement ratios, as well as mixes with higher levels of secondary cementitious materials reduce the CO2 footprint. MasterEase makes it easier to produce and place and this helps engineers and investors to improve sustainability ratings of their projects.

“This year BASF celebrates 40 years of growth together with Indonesia. We don’t just take the opportunity to look back at our past achievements but also look ahead and continue to innovate to help the country tackle the many challenges of urban living. According to The World Bank, by 2025, 68 percent of the Indonesian population is expected to live in urban areas. As the country develops and becomes increasingly urbanized, better infrastructure and affordable housing are crucial and BASF can help address these issues with our solutions and technologies,” said CP Chan, President Director of BASF Indonesia.

During the launch, a demonstration of the advantages of MasterEase was arranged for 150 invited guests to experience the quality of the new technology up-close.
