By Linus Kamugisha
BASF participated in the 16th Annual Engineers' Day (AED) that was held on 5th-7th September 2018 at Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. The theme was "50 years of engineers' contribution to the nation; achievements, challenges and way forward." The three-day event brought on board a total of 50 exhibitors, over 2,000 engineers from across the country, government officials, quantity surveyors, and business people.
Around 400 people visited the BASF booth that exhibited some of our innovative solutions in the Construction Chemicals Division under the Master Builders brand. Anand Sinha, Country Sales Manager BASF Tanzania, made a presentation on BASF Master Builders Solutions which showcased some of our cost-effective solutions for the construction industry. The event gave BASF an opportunity to engage their customers on the challenges they experience in the construction industry and advised on possible solutions.
The Engineers Registration Board Tanzania has since 2003, been organizing the event with an objective to give engineers an opportunity to exchange experiences through discussions, exhibit engineering related products and services to the public, as well as awards to best final year engineering students from various institutions in the country. The Engineers Registration Board Tanzania is a statutory body established under the Engineers Registration Act, No. 15 of 1997. The Board has been given the responsibility of monitoring and regulating engineering activities in the country.
BASF under the Master Builders solutions will continue to collaborate with Engineers in Tanzania, in a bid to enhance capacity development in the construction industry by driving sustainable solutions that exceed customers' requirements.
