What is Crystalline Waterproofing?
Crystalline waterproofing technology is a key component for producing durable, watertight concrete. Integral crystalline waterproofing is internal to the concrete and reacts, in the presence of moisture, to form insoluble crystalline products to:
- Reduce concrete permeability
- Seal hairline cracks from within the concrete
Crystalline waterproofing coating penetrates concrete, and, seals capillaries and hairline cracks.
Master Builders Solutions crystalline waterproofing technology is available as an integral waterproofing admixture or a waterproofing coating for concrete, for use in both above- and below-grade applications.
What is a Hydrophobic pore-blocking waterproofing admixture?
Hydrophobic pore-blocking admixture is a chloride free organic admixture that reacts with the cement hydration process to form a hydrophobic ingredient to reduce the capillary suction and prevent the ingress of potentially deleterious soluble material, resulting in concrete with enhanced durability. It significantly reduces water absorption of concrete.
