Utilising Seven Master Builders Solutions Products To Repair Brisbane’s City Beach Boardwalk
Boardwalks are high trafficable public areas, so it’s important that their strength, durability and aesthetics are maintained over time. O’Connor Kelly and Master Builders Solutions recently completed a 7 million-dollar refurbishment project at the City Beach Boardwalk which runs along the Brisbane River.
Some of the repairs included:
CORROSION REPAIRS
Repairing piles and beams underneath the boardwalk as well as replacing deck panels, patch repairs and sealing concrete to eliminate any further corrosion.
Solutions:
- Installation of MasterProtect 8065CP sacrificial anodes.
- MasterEmaco N 5200CI to pack around the cathodic protection anodes, before placing MasterEmaco S 5440CI on the pile caps.
- The use of MasterEmaco S 822CI as a spray applied repair mortar for cathodic protection overlays.
- Used to fill honeycombs and pin holes in concrete deck panels MasterEmaco N 5100 was used as a topping render (up to 3mm thick).
- Application of MasterProtect H 1150, an aqueous cream which eliminated the possibility of excess product dropping into and potentially contaminating the Brisbane River.
